What is Elevate Foot and Ankle?

 

Elevate Foot and Ankle is a full-service podiatry practice with five highly skilled physicians. They
provide the latest treatments and techniques on their patients to get them back on their feet
as quickly as possible. They treat patients of all ages, with pathology as simple as a discolored
toenail and as complex as a reconstructive surgery. 

This practice has been serving the community for over 30 years. Originally established by Drs
Paul Lieberman and Neal Marks in 1992, it was renamed "Elevate Foot and Ankle" when Dr.
David Kretch took over ownership in 2020 with the hopes of modernizing and "elevating" the
care it provides to its patients. Dr. Kretch had a vision of using technology and state of the art
treatment modalities to provide the best care possible. After successfully rebranding and
revamping the office, that vision has now become a reality. 

Their mission is to “elevate the sole” and restore the livelihoods of their patients by providing
the most modern and advanced medical and surgical treatments of the foot and ankle
available.

 

Who is Dr. David Kretch?

 

David was born and raised in Cleveland, a die-hard Browns, Cavs, and Guardians fan from a
young age. He went to undergrad at The Ohio State University, following in his parents’
footsteps as a third generation Buckeye. After receiving his doctorate from Kent State
University, he matched for a three-year surgical residency in Chicago. It was there that he met
his wife, Jaclyn, and was able to convince her to move back to his hometown and buy a podiatry
practice.

“It was important to me to return to the Buckeye State and treat the members of the city I
grew up in.” David and his wife moved to Cleveland and took over ownership of a medical
practice. Within the first week of owning the business in 2020, the country was shut down due
to the pandemic. Elective surgeries were postponed for months and patients were not
comfortable coming to their office, let alone to leave their houses.

“It was a difficult time to take over a small business to say the least. However, I tried to stay
positive and see how I could use this to my advantage. In that first year, I was able to rethink
every aspect of the business and put new policies and protocols in motion that would help us
once things picked back up. The truth is that medical school and residency teach you how to
be a doctor, not how to run a business, but having that time to learn was invaluable.”

Now in 2023, the practice has a very strong team of doctors and supporting staff and continues
to be a staple in the community. They are active members of the Rocky River Chamber of
Commerce and have sponsored local charity races and service projects in the area.

Earlier this year, David and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Miles, to
their family to join their goldendoodle, Willow.
